Ohio Citizen Action canvassers go door-to-door across the state year round. We translate dense utility policy, complex legislation, and ballot issues into plain language that connects directly to people’s real lives and we explain why it matters.

Phone canvassing extends our reach to every corner of Ohio. Our trained phone canvassers take the time to have longer conversations, answer questions, and turn information into action by connecting Ohioans directly to decision-makers through patch-through calls and digital letters.
When a campaign is underway, our phone canvassers keep people connected. They get in touch to update supporters, report on progress, and let people know when it’s time to take action.

Informing Ohioans is only half the equation. The other half is making sure decision-makers hear what Ohioans have to say on the record, where it counts.
Sometimes Ohio Citizen Action submits testimony on behalf of its members, but most of the time, our job is to help people tell their own story in their own words. Through phone calls to legislators, handwritten and digital letters, public comments to the Ohio Power Siting Board, and testimony at public hearings across the state, we prepare Ohioans to show up and speak out on the issues that affect their lives.
At the Ballot Box
An informed voter is a powerful voter.
Democracy only works when people have the information they need to participate in it. Ohio Citizen Action provides nonpartisan voter education on ballot issues, candidate positions, and voting rights so Ohioans can make their voices heard at the polls with full knowledge of what’s at stake.
